Sandy Karman Indonesian graphic designer & poster artist based in Jakarta. Occasional painter and university guest lecturer. Born in 1983 in Jakarta, a graduate from Visual Communication Design - Bandung Institute of Technology in 2005. A recipient of 2nd place Ganesha Prize. Having worked for Total Design (Amsterdam) in 2004, Leo Burnett Design & Ogilvy One (Jakarta) respectively from 2005 - 2007 and done in-resident workshops with Prof. Ahn Sang Soo and Kim Do-Hyung (Seoul) in 2010, Makoto Saito (Tokyo) in 2011, and poster exhibition workshops UG. Sato (Tokyo - No More Fukushima/Kuwasawa Design School) in 2011, and Kan Tai Keung (Shanghai - Shanghai State Library/Shanghai 1st Visual Design Biennial) in 2011. A presentation of his works at AGI Open in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 2015. Sandy's poster works have been exhibited in Paris La Fête du Graphisme (The Graphic Art Festival) in 2014 & 2016 and Echirolles Centre du Graphisme, France (2017) and some prestigious museums such as The Museum of Modern Art Toyama Japan (2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021), The Poster Museum Warsaw (2010) , The Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw (2021) , Poster Museum Lahti (2011), Hong Kong Heritage Museum (2014 & 2021), Central House of Artists Moscow (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2020), Tretyakov Gallery Moscow (2020 &2022), Dobrolubovka Akhangelsk (2021), in international poster biennials and triennials worldwide, as well as other thematic international graphic design exhibitions in Taiwan, Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Tula & Shanghai.
